Welcome to the Lura J. Dungan Blog!

For the greatest share of my life I have been using written word, mainly poetry, as an expressive outlet. For me, it's a way of sharing my thoughts, emotions, and ideas about my life experiences, or of the experiences of the people I've known and loved in my life. Topics I've written about range from drug addiction to God and my poems have been recognized and awarded locally. I've also written fiction and have received an award on the national level from Mensa International. I am currently in the process of trying to have my book “Dragons and Pearls” published, a wonderful children's story about the adventures of a boy and his quest to defeat a dragon. As you can see, writing is the love of my life! I have created this blog as a way to post my own thoughts, but also as a way to receive comments, thoughts, and feedback from you regarding my posts or any of my work. I welcome your thoughts!
